Idea Contest

The "DIU Smart City Idea Contest 2022" will be hosted by the DIU Data Science Lab on November 26, 2022, as part of the 3rd DIU Data Science Summit. The purpose of the Idea Competition is to encourage and support student creativity and the development of novel and potentially useful data-driven solutions that will transform Daffodil Smart City to the next level. Students will compete for a total of 15,000 BDT in prizes, as well as mentorship and the opportunity to develop their ideas in the DIU Data Science Lab's incubator. The ideas will be judged in public by a group of experts. All of the participants will have the chance to meet other creative people, sponsors, and mentors who can help them make their ideas come true.

Ideas that improve the quality of Daffodil Smart Campus are what we're after. The idea has to have the potential to become a profitable business, or it might just help our community or throughout the world. There are a lot of issues or things that we want to see improved on campus. However, only a small percentage of the population actually has ideas about how to achieve this change. Are you one of those people? If so, you can put your ideas to the test in the following areas and watch them come to life.

Rules and Guidelines

University students from all over Bangladesh and from all disciplines are eligible to participate in this competition.
Participants have to register in groups of 2 members. Team Registration Fee 500tk. You can pay via Bkash, Rocket or Nagad. Must put your team name as Reference like DIU_idea_contest_ team data science lab.
Participants will register their groups and their ideas on the 3rd DIU Data Science Summit website (https://dslab.daffodilvarsity.edu.bd/summit2022). They have to write a short summary about their ideas within 500 words. Registration will be closed before November 23, 2022. The registration fee will be 500 BDT.
Participants will get a certificate and a souvenir for attending the contest. The total Prize Money is 15K.
On the day of the competition, each group will get 10 minutes to present their ideas before the judges. Ideas can be anything from a physical example or prototype to a drawing, a patent application, an electronic representation, or a video. Be creative!
