ABOUT

The world is becoming increasingly data-driven, and Daffodil International University's Department of Software Engineering hopes to help pave the way for a smart, data-driven Bangladesh. To achieve this goal, we host an annual Data Science Summit at which we invite thought leaders and industry experts from a wide range of disciplines to participate in stimulating discussions and exchange novel viewpoints.

In addition, we arrange data hackathons and idea contests to bring the best out of young eager minds. As a continuation of our ongoing endeavors, the Daffodil International University Data Science Club and the Data Science Lab of the Department of Software Engineering are hosting the 3rd Data Science Summit 2022 on Saturday, 26 November, 2022 at the Daffodil Smart City in Ashulia.

Opening Ceremony

The 3rd Data Science Summit will start with an opening ceremony which will be presided over by Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Hon'ble Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Daffodil International University, Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University, Professor Dr. S.M. Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder, Hon’ble Pro-Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University, and other dignitaries.
Readings from the holy books will open the program, followed by the playing of the national anthem, and valuable messages from our distinguished guests and speakers.

DIU Data Science Lab Opening Ceremony

The DIU Data Science Lab has been outfitted with high-performance computing devices over the past few years in order to provide a suitable environment for our students and anybody else who is interested in harnessing the power of data to improve our world. At this joyous occasion of the 3rd Data Science Summit, we will announce the launch of the DIU Data Science Lab.

Following the inauguration ceremony f or the DIU Data Science Lab, we will gather in front of the Knowledge Valley for a brief photo op to commemorate this momentous occasion.

Panel Discussion on Industry-Academia Collaboration

As we move into the next decade of new technologies, big changes will happen in healthcare with personalized medicine, the digitization of the economy and society with AI and high-performance computing, and the digitisation of the way we work with high-performance computing. These problems will need solutions that can be used in Bangladesh in a way that is sustainable. To develop and sell these solutions, it will be important for businesses and universities to work together and for the government to make it easy for them to do so. Keeping this in mind, we have arranged a panel discussion on Industry-Academia collaboration where renowned business leaders will share the stage with prominent academicians to try to find a way towards sustainable industry-academia collaboration.
